Hey there, I’m Katherine and I love baking.
I grew up helping my mother with the Portuguese Easter Bread and the dozens of varieties of Christmas cookies, but I didn’t realize I had the same passion until summer of 2006 when my cupcake recipe won Best in Show at my county fair. A small accomplishment, I know, but that sparked something and I’ve loved experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with my friends and family ever since.
I graduated from college in May 2012 and I’m currently working full-time (and often overtime) in a finance job in the California Bay Area. Between working and studying to get my CPA license and recovering from all the working/studying with Netflix and a big mug of tea, I don’t have nearly enough time or resources to bake, but I’m doing my best.
Bit by bit, my kitchen becomes better equipped; bit by bit, I figure out how to make food look as good as I promise it tastes; and bit by bit, I learn a little bit more about being a big kid in a big scary world.
